The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries invites you to the 2016 TANC lecture, "Activating Pension Plan Participants: Art or Science?" featuring Lisa Bruggen. As western societies face the historically unprecedented development of simultaneous increases in life expectancy and decreases in birth rates. These developments put pressure on pension systems worldwide, and create both responsibilities and risks for pension plan participants, even as current research indicates a low degree of retirement readiness. Consequences for participants post-retirement remain dire, as potential gaps remain undetected. Lisa Bruggen examines these topics and shares findings from 5 pension provider studies.
