Insurers sit at the heart of the financial system as long-term investors, and are crucial in managing long-term risk. In this workshop we will consider what it means to be an ‘Insurer for Purpose’ and how insurers can invest for resilience. We will explore the regulatory landscape and SS5/25 – the supervisory statement issued by the UK Prudential Regulation Authority, moving towards allocating for positive outcomes (not just risk mitigation), scenario analysis, real-world outcomes and how insurers can use their influence to steward a stronger system.

We will also review how the system works in practice, and how we draw lines of accountability and responsibility for these changes. This will be an interactive and discussion-based event where we will learn from specialists and each other.
