Investment Marketing Award

As part of the fifth annual Savvy Investor Awards 2020, we are delighted to introduce this new addition to the awards line up. We believe that the circumstances all marketers have faced in the past year has pushed them to break new ground and work harder than ever. It’s been a tough-old year for content and marketing in the investment industry and we would like to shine a light on these teams.

Why We Have Created This Award

Against the backdrop of pandemic-induced volatility and the global shift to working from home, we’ve seen firms work harder than ever this year. Many have adapted campaigns, created engaging content and made the most of digital channels and promotion in very impressive, innovative ways (and at high volumes!). That’s why this year, Savvy Investor and White Marble Marketing have come together to create the first award designed entirely to recognise the hard work and campaigns delivered by marketing teams over 2020 in response to the coronavirus crisis.

In the investment industry, marketers are often the unsung heroes. Short deadlines, complex compliance approvals and tighter budgets are just some of the daily challenges. But when faced with shifting market dynamics and changing client needs, marketers are key in ensuring that businesses are doing whatever they can to keep clients engaged, up-to-date and informed. As this unprecedented and very busy year draws to a close, it feels like a good time to recognise the efforts of the investment marketing community and commend those teams and initiatives who’ve really made an impact, especially in response to serving clients around the coronavirus crisis.

Why Enter?

Beyond coming together as a team to appreciate the hard work and effort you have all put in over the past year, the winning entry will receive:

  • An engraved trophy to display in the office and digitally
  • Feature in our Awards Magazine
  • Dedicated publicity for the Award category including social media as well as email distribution to all members of the Savvy Investor network reaching an audience of 50,000
  • Savvy Investor Award assets to include in your own marketing material, such as a logo, press release template, social media tiles and web banner
  • One LinkedIn post to the winner on the White Marble account

Submission Guide – What we are looking for

Savvy Investor and White Marble Marketing are looking for marketing teams who, when faced with the coronavirus crisis in late-February/March, turned on their heels and responded in order to better support their firms and clients. Not necessarily looking for innovation and ground-breaking campaigns – we’re searching for examples of how your team adapted an existing campaigns and calendars, delivered something that you had not done before, or creative use of the tools available while working-from-home.

Use your submission to demonstrate the before, during and after of your plan to show how effective you were at responding to the crisis. Further details should cover the situation and plans prior to the crisis unfolding, the objectives and ideas that sparked your response, how you implemented changes, and what impact it had as a result.

Your submission entry should provide this backdrop with the reasons why you believe the team/campaign deserves to win with examples and links to the work you’d like to be considered as well as performance data and client feedback.

  3. Judging panel assessment for the shortlist and winner nominations
  4. Senior panel assessment for the final winner and highly commended entries

A completed submission and links/attachments are essential for your entry to be reviewed by a judging panel from Savvy Investor and White Marble Marketing. The deadline for all submissions is Friday 4 December.

During this interview we will ask you to talk through your entry and ask you a number of other questions to help us to make an in-depth, independent assessment of your work. All submissions will be assessed by the judging panel before being nominated for the overall winner and highly commended shortlists. The shortlist will then be reviewed by the senior panel, to agree and finalise the awarded entries. Only one entry will receive the overall winner award, but it is possible for there to be multiple highly commended entries.
