The 2016 NYSSA author series is proud to announce a talk and panel discussion featuring Peter Conti-Brown, author of "The Power and Independence of the Federal Reserve," in which financial historian and legal scholar Conti-Brown examines the relationship between the government and the Fed, the Fed's internal governance and structure, its relationships with congress, economists, bankers, and the executive office, and the complexities that define it. Central questions will include the mandates of the Federal Reserve in the past and present, how the Fed manages systematic global risk, how the Fed manages the global economy, the politics of monetary policy, and the political independency of the Fed.
