IMN will host its 1st Annual Investors' Conference on CRE CLOs this March 14, 2019 in New York City. This inaugural event will kick off IMN’s CLO Series, ahead of the largest annual global gathering of the CLO and leveraged loans industry in Europe and New York. As issuance volume approached $14 billion at the end of 2018, this recently re-emerged asset class provides a cross between ABS and CMBS markets and a revitalization to pre-crisis CRE-CDOs. It has been described as the “fastest growing part of the CRE finance market”, enticing several originators' interest as a way to keep the credit machine working and gain more leverage on commercial real estate lending. This year has shown several new entrants dominating the market and investor demand, and this growing spike in activity will allow for a competitive market among CRE lenders going into 2019. This one day conference will discuss today’s energized US CRE CLO market, the appeal to investors and large bond fund managers who wish to create a permanent financing tool for bridge lenders, structural features of these deal structures and their various credit profiles, as well as the advantages of CRE CLOs over traditional CMBS and pre-crisis CRE CDOs. With the return of the 2.0 CRE CLOs for transitional lending continuing for the foreseeable future, there has never been a more strategic time to tap into this market.
