The Innovation Summit hosted by The Economist takes place on September 20th 2018 in London. This is the second time the summit will be held in London after successful events over the past 8 years in destinations such as Hong Kong and Chicago. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning have come to be hot topics in the business world. Numerous start-ups have been funded to tap into the commercial opportunities, while big companies are seeking to implement larger scale AI strategies. Whilst this has brought hope of increased efficiency, it has also raised darker predictions, from machines taking over human’s jobs to possible threats to humanity. A strategy needs to be developed urgently by executives to break through the hype around AI and develop a truly intelligent company.
