This conference has been organised by African Agri Council. According to available data, 500 million smallholder farmers are responsible for producing nearly 80% of the food consumed in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Agriculture is the number one employer in sub-Saharan Africa, providing nearly two-thirds of the total labour force. With current expectations of global population growth, Innovation and progression is needed in order to feed the population and attract the next generation of African millennia to the agricultural industry . African smallholder farmers do not presently have access to technology and financial services, restricting their opportunities to expand and increase productivity. The Smart Agri Congress Africa (SACA), taking place from the 27 - 28 March 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya provides an opportunity to access some of the latest technological advancements in African agriculture.
