In this 40-page report, the authors focus on selected key areas including: growing business scale in a lower margin environment; the impact of increased regulation and the application of technology and implementation of outsourcing in order to counter rising costs.
KPMG, AIMA and the MFA have collaborated to produce this 30-page report, based on a survey of over one hundred hedge funds. The report explores investment compliance, hedge fund product design and hedge fund marketing. It suggests that as fee and fund structures become increasingly customized, hedge funds will position themselves more and more as solution providers.
A New Era For Hedge Funds? by Lyxor
The authors of this paper, evaluating the drivers of hedge fund returns, conclude that traditional asset classes will be outperformed by hedge funds on account of the US equities’ loss of momentum and the normalization of US monetary policy. Hedge fund annual excess returns will be around 5-6% annually.
Hedge Fund Investing: Manager Selection and Due Diligence by Merrill Lynch
Hedge fund investments, which have in the past provided strong risk-adjusted returns uncorrelated to traditional investments, can potentially add significant value to an investor’s portfolio. This paper reviews the challenges and importance of hedge fund manager selection, elements of effective hedge fund businesses and investment due diligence processes, and the benefits of employing a professional intermediary to select a manager.
