Robeco wins "Best ESG Paper 2018"

The award for best ESG paper of 2018 was the easiest decision faced by our judges this year. Robeco's "Big Book of SI" was a clear winner, providing an in-depth overview of the importance and implementation of Sustainability Investing.

ESG 2018

The Big Book of SI (Robeco, 2018)

This 102-page tome begins by providing context of the need for Sustainability Investing, describing three megatrends (climate change, inequality and cybersecurity) which are changing the world. The report then examines in detail the different approaches that can be taken to SI, the big industry trends, the state of sustainability reporting and the impact of ESG strategies upon performance.

How ESG Engagement Creates Value for Investors and Companies (PRI, 2018)

It's clear that shareholder value can be created by better ESG engagement between investors and companies. However, exactly how this happens is poorly understood. In this paper, the authors explore this question.

2018 ESG Trends to Watch (MSCI)

This hugely popular MSCI paper examines important trends that the authors believe will inform how investors face the upcoming opportunities and risks of ESG investing.

Incorporating ESG Factors into Fixed Income Investment (World Bank)

Co-authored by Georg Inderst and Fiona Stewart and published by the World Bank in conjunction with Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund, this 76-page report provides a comprehensive overview of ESG as it applies to fixed income investment. The report examines how ESG analysis can be applied to a variety of fixed income instruments, and examines the research around the question of whether incorporating an ESG approach means having to sacrifice investment performance. Finally the report discusses the tools available to investors and how ESG is being implemented in practice, across a variety of investment strategies.

Climate risks and opportunities in the investment process: A practical guide for trustees and boards (IIGCC)

This report by the IIGCC (Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change) acts as a helpful guide for asset owners seeking to address climate risks and opportunities in the investment process.

Modern Slavery: The True Cost of Cobalt Mining (Hermes IM)

For compliance reasons, this paper is NOT accessible in the United States
